PRACTICE AREAS & REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS

Paul focuses his practice primarily on civil litigation, torts, complex commercial and business litigation, and insurance policyholder and coverage litigation.  He also has significant experience in data privacy & cyber-security matters, intellectual property & technology litigation, labor & employment issues, and corporate matters.

 

During his career, Paul has successfully tried more than 200 cases to verdict, including approximately 100 criminal cases (primarily violent crimes, drugs, organized crime, and white collar) as a former state prosecutor in two Texas counties (Denton & Dallas Counties) and as a defense attorney, as well as approximately 100 civil cases (including tort, insurance, business and complex commercial litigation, and intellectual property litigation).

 

Paul has successfully represented numerous parties in multi-million dollar complex civil and criminal

litigation throughout Texas and the nation, including defending an alleged accomplice in an alleged federal fraud and counterfeiting scheme; representing a food wholesaler in a coverage dispute with an insurer regarding assertion of a pollution exclusion; representing individuals in a coverage and bad faith dispute with an insurer regarding a long-term care policy; representing a company in a business dispute involving the purchase of goods utilized in a production process; defending a children’s clothier from trademark infringement and trade dress claims; representing several major corporations in data privacy/cybersecurity matters; and most recently representing clients in COVID-19 related matters.
